No Bluff Marans at Pine Bluff - Pardon, Still Under Construction

MOAC 1st Annual Festival Art Work

The artist, Steffan Lee, is a brilliant young son of our beloved South. His work is born of pure inspiration, the same soulful creativity that produced Jazz, Soul food, Cajun culture, and the sense of tranquility that only a loving community can give a man. Steffan has blessed us with this painting, a smile from his heart to ours, to join us in our celebration. It will be a historical marker for us, a beautiful reminder of humble beginnings, hard work, French roots, and the value that our Marans hold in our hearts and minds. The Fluer De Lis represents the ancient history of the Marans, in colors of depth, raw, natural, and dark, blues and greens and gold. The initials of the MOAC across the upper folds of the Fluer De Lis are bright and fresh and represent new beginnings as a Community built on the background of a regal past. The words "Le Maison de Poulet de Ouef Russett' (as misspelled in the art) are interpreted "The home of the hen of the dark red egg". Steffan was concerned that it may be misspelled or not grammatically correct
Which is fine and that if it wasn't perfect then it would serve to remind us that none of us are perfect either. A home is welcoming and stable and secure, let us find ourselves in this state of mind, and provide a safe haven for the Marans of the future in our own back yards. Finally the year 2010 is in the bottom left corner to denote our history, and mark this year as a landmark for the MOAC.
Presented to Brenda Little by Andy White as the first print for the MOAC Marans Festival 2010.
For Brenda's hard work and dedication for taking on the challenge, with courage, into presenting
the USA with the most authentic Marans Club dedicated to the Marans of French Standards.
It's a blend of French and America art joining together to represent the Marans breed.

MOAC 1st Annual Egg Show
MOAC 1st Annual egg show was presented at the Big Bird Classic with MOAC members that were at the show along with members who shipped eggs to be presented. The MOAC egg display rack was designed and created as well as hand crafted by MOAC member Harold Bessette. This added such a wonderful touch to the display of the eggs. Harold also hand crafts chicken egg nest and donated two nests to be raffled off at the show to raise funds for the club. Many poultry enthusiasts were quite interested in Harold's design and high quality of his products. Be sure and check out the MOAC Members Products Page to see the nest that Harold's constructs.

They won MOAC logo hats and solid chocolate eggs. They had a blast, and so did everyone else watching.
