The Marans of America Club 1st Annual Festival was held at the Big Bird Classic show in Pine Bluff Arkansas and was a huge success. The show was on April 17th 2010. We thought we would give MOAC's Annual Festival  shows their own page on the MOAC site so that we can present the many happenings of the show. We can't guarantee every show will have it's own page but we'll do our best.

The MOAC Logo Cake was presented for raffle at the BBC show. Weighed in over 10 1/2 pounds and hand made by Jeanette McGee- VP of MOAC.

Won by Brenda Little. Devoured at Red Lobster among  all MOAC members.

Pink Glass Rooster on the nest was donated by Darb's Antiques of Van Buren Arkansas  and raffled off.

Nest Boxes Donated by Triple "S" Farms and won by Andy White & Richard Gray.

You have to admit seeing a grown man sleeping walking is kind of funny.

Even love was in the air
I was so proud that Jeanette knew just what to look for in her birds when presenting them at the show.

"Bravo ! Continue  in your selection in safeguarding the Marans, we are never quite sure of "everything", and knowing our breed around the world confirms us in its continuation in case of "epizootic" ( disease)".  Marans Club Of France

The reason for all of this --------the future generations.

The children had a blast being creative artist with our Marans Mascot Gaston. Many of the parents gave us thanks for offering the coloring contest for the children because it not only involved them in something, the prizes were awesome as well. We were more than honored to have such creative artists partake and show their own expression and  interpretation  of marans.
And to be honest when it comes to genetics it's really not much  different than a coloring a chicken on a piece of paper. As long as we keep it fun.
The MOAC 2010 Annual Festival Art

The artist, Steffan Lee, is a brilliant young son of our beloved South. His work is born of pure inspiration, the same soulful creativity that produced Jazz, Soul food, Cajun culture, and the sense of tranquility that only a loving community can give a man. Steffan has blessed us with this painting, a smile from his heart to ours, to join us in our celebration. It will be a historical marker for us, a beautiful reminder of humble beginnings, hard work, French roots, and the value that our Marans hold in our hearts and minds. The Fluer De Lis represents the ancient history of the Marans, in colors of depth, raw, natural, and dark, blues and greens and gold. The initials of the MOAC across the upper folds of the Fluer De Lis are bright and fresh and represent new beginnings as a Community built on the background of a regal past. The words "Le Maison de Poulet de Ouef Russett' are interpreted as "The home of the hen of the dark red egg". Steffan was concerned that it may be misspelled or not grammatically correct. I told him it was fine and that if it wasn't perfect then it would serve to remind us that none of us are perfect either. A home is welcoming and stable and secure, let us find ourselves in this state of mind, and provide a safe haven for the Marans of the future in our own back yards. Finally the year 2010 is in the bottom left corner to denote our history, and mark this year as a landmark for the MOAC. Steffan signed it for us with an added date in the lower right corner. Thank you Steffan for your talent, we appreciate you and your work.
Andy White

Presented to Brenda Little by Andy White as the first print for the MOAC Marans Festival 2010. For Brenda's  hard work and dedication for taking on the challenge, with courage, into presenting the USA with the most authentic Marans Club  dedicated to the Marans of French Standards. It's a blend of French and America art joining together to represent the Marans breed.

"It's a great honor, but it's not about individual accomplishments. It's about  team goals. I've got great teammates. They make things a lot easier"
Brenda Little
