Home      About us

Welcome to the Marans of America Club. We are glad to offer all  Marans enthusiast the opportunity to learn about this great Heritage  breed from France.

With the many that have chosen to support the Marans of America Club with their paid memberships  and donations we hope to be able to offer as much  content as possible. Content that consists of older archives that dates back decades to  today's newer content in which we are all still learning about this breed.

The Marans of America Club has become  the Worlds largest Marans site for it resources and content about Marans. The MOAC newsletter has become very popular with over 200 subscribers. We have grown to over 137 members;  This accomplishment  couldn't be such a club as it is today without the support of it's members and sponsors who believe in the cause.

I also want to thank the Marans Club de France for officially  adopting Marans of America Club as it's represented  club for the USA.
I also want to personally thank all the writers whom contributed to the club's content.

Marans of America members are becoming more active and are seeing the need to start showing marans in the correct standards to help the APA better understand what needs to be accepted as the official standards.  But over all it's going to take the  marans community as a whole.
This club is not in competition with any other clubs, groups or organizations. We are not an elite club but a small club in numbers and our goal is to educate and learn of the French Standards Marans.   We are not a political club and have high regards towards the Marans Club de France.
The  club's mission statement  states the purpose and goals of the club.

MOAC members feel that things  should be done right the first time and this goal takes a little more patience in educating  ourselves to what needs to be done within our breeding programs so that we adhere to the French Standards. Then to be able to slowly present true French Standards Marans to the public, no matter what the variety of Marans and no matter what the APA standards  have been set for the Marans here in the USA.

Humbly, we thank you for your support.

Chairman
US Delegate for the Marans Club de France  (A delegate as far as I am concerned is not just one person but a group of people working together)
Any one person thinking they can represent the  Marans Community, is sadly mistaken.}

Jeanette McGee
Vice President/Secretary

My name is Jeanette McGee. I have enjoyed breeding the French Black Copper Marans and hope to offer any help I can in furthering the breed. I'm a single mom, raising a beautiful little girl, and live on a small farm in North MS. We raise many different animals, but our favorite is the Marans breed. I'm very excited about the future of this breed.
